Companies with no direct connection to Pokemon Go continue to find ways to capitalize on the game's tremendous success. Yelp is the latest, offering a new filter that will be of use to Pokemon Go players.

On its blog today, Yelp announced that when using its website or app to search for a business, you can choose to filter by those located near a PokeStop. (Other filters allow you to look only for businesses that are open at a particular time or are within a certain distance of you.) This is currently one of the more prominent filters in the app, as it's one of the few displayed at the top of your search results without having to delve into the full list of available filters.

At least for now, this feature is only available on iOS and Android in the US, Australia, and New Zealand. Pokemon Go developer Niantic is hoping for it to be available in 200 markets soon.

For Yelp's filter to be effective, it's requesting users' help in identifying businesses that are near PokeStops.

"In order to leave no PokeStop unturned, we need your help!" it said. "To identify a business that's in the vicinity of a PokeStop, check-in to that location on Yelp and answer a quick question to let fellow Yelpers and trainers know that this is the place they want to be. In just the past 24 hours, Yelpers have already identified thousands of PokeStops! With your help, we'll become Pokemon masters in no time."

T-Mobile announced plans this week to offer Go players free data (among other things) as part of a special promotion. Local businesses, on the other hand, are using an in-game mechanic to attract customers to their stores.
